What To Do When Your System Fails

Check your thermostat first
Confirm it's set correctly and has power. A dead battery or wrong mode causes more "no heat/no AC" calls than an actual equipment failure.

Check your breaker panel
A tripped breaker is the most common cause of a completely dead system. Reset it once — if it trips again immediately, stop and call for service.

Smell gas? Leave immediately
If you smell sulfur or rotten eggs near a gas furnace, leave the house right away, don't flip any switches, and call your gas utility from outside before calling us.

No heat in freezing weather
Open cabinet doors under sinks near exterior walls to help protect pipes from freezing while you wait for service.

No AC during extreme heat
Close blinds, run fans to circulate air, and stay hydrated — this matters most for infants, older adults, and anyone with a health condition.

Know when it's a true emergency
No heat below freezing, no AC during a heat advisory, a gas odor, or a carbon monoxide alarm all call for same-day service. A single warm room or a minor new noise can usually wait for the next business day.
